In 1986, John Hughes directed a movie about a high school senior, Ferris Bueller, who skipped his last day of school and drove around Chicago with his girlfriend and best friend. Apart from celebrating the joys of being young and having fun, the film also celebrated the beauty and the spirit of Chicago by featuring its many iconic landmarks.
Fans are very passionate about this movie ~ be sure to stay tuned to the end to learn about Ferris Fest. Cindy Pickett and Lyman Ward (Ferris Bueller’s parents), Jonathan Schmock (French restaurant maitre d’) and Larry “Flash” Jenkins (garage attendant who borrows Ferrari) will be in attendance!
“Ferris Bueller has an uncanny skill at cutting classes and getting away with it. Intending to make one last duck-out before graduation, Ferris calls in sick, “borrows” a Ferrari, and embarks on a one-day journey through the streets of Chicago. On Ferris’ trail is high school principal Rooney, determined to catch him in the act.” While it’s not great practice to do what Ferris did, the film did inspire children not to take life to seriously!
Now 30 years after the movie’s cinematic release, it’s time to revisit what happened to the cast three decades later interspersed ~ with a few nostalgic scenes from the movie ~
